Iris GardenPowell Gardens is a not-for-profit, 915-acre botanical garden whose purpose is to inspire people to appreciate, beautify and conserve our natural environment by providing a peaceful setting with opportunities for learning and reflection. Approximately 20 acres of plant display are distributed within four major gardens--the Perennial Garden, Rock & Waterfall Garden, Island Garden and the Visitor Center Gardens. A display conservatory, Chapel, Wildflower Meadow and an exciting education and events schedule complement the overall Gardens experience. Powell Gardens is located 30 miles east of Kansas City on Highway 50.
